Does Your Satellite Radio Multi-Task?
Our family has owned a small portable satellite radio device for a few years now and until recently, we only activated it during the summer months. We now use the satellite radio for multitasking and are thinking it may be time to sign-up for a full year plan as we are now using our satellite radio far more often these days. Here’s why, during the day I do computer service calls for different companies around the city so the satellite radio goes with me during that time. In the evening, we move the same satellite radio receiver over to our garage as we tend to spend many hours in the evenings doing a little of this and a little of that around the yard. Finally, we own an RV and when we go camping, the satellite radio comes along and the best thing is because it’s a satellite signal, no matter how far in the back woods we go, the reception is just as good as it is in the city. The best advice I can give is to purchase extra antennas for every location you will be using your satellite radio so as to not have to waste time moving the antenna every-time you move the radio. Satellite antennas are plentiful and cheap to be had on eBay, just do a quick search for them or go pick one up at your local large discount electronics store.
Once you have a bunch of extra satellite antennas, you can permanently install them in your vehicles, other buildings, backyard or even on your desk at work. Sometimes when you are using the satellite radio in a vehicle, you will notice that the reception can get low quality if you park under tall trees or next to large buildings in a city core for example. If you are trying to listen while parked, don’t be afraid to move to another parking stall, heck sometimes it even will improve the reception if you move a couple inches forward or backward. The bottom line is try relocating your satellite antenna by a little bit to get a big difference in reception.
